Julayi Review : Medoicre , impractical and unconvincing

Beginning it was Raccha , later it was Gabbar Singh and now it is Julayi from the Mega Heroes . Allu arjun had a bitter experience with his previous film ” Badrinath ” . Took enough gap and teamed up with Maverick director Trivikram and Gorgeous girl Ileana . On the flip side Trivikram and Ileana also agonized with the unpleasant results in their respective previous films . Now , three of us are took the litmus test with this prestigious project “Julayi” and let’s see how far they have reached the expectations .
Story :

The main theme of the film is to convey the message “Easy earned money is injurious” . Ravi ( Allu arjun ) is a get going guy who likes to earn money in the simplest methods and wants to become a millionaire over night . Accidentally , he meets with  Gattu ( Sonu sood ) guided by Varadha rajulu ( Kota Srinivas rao ) and a gang of goons who are on the verge to rob a bank . Allu arjun assists police to catch sonu sood who absconded a huge amount of money from bank and planning to leave the city . Wounded Sonu sood escapes from the cops and crave to kill Allu arjun and his family . Knowing this Police department  moves allu arjun to Hyderabad under witness protection and there he lands in Rajendra Prasad ( ACP ) house where he meets Madhu ( Ileana ) and falls for her in the first sight . Ileana works in a travel company which is associated by Kota Srinivas’s acquaintance . How Ileana is involved in the escape route of sonu sood ? How did Sonu sood find allu arjun in hyderabad and what happened when they both meet follows the rest of the story

On Screen :

Allu arjun did a decent role in his parameters yet ended up unsatisfactory . His make up and costumes are not at all convincing . An improper dubbing to his voice is clearly observed by the the incorrect lip synch in few scenes . His dances are good though unexceptional to his previous film .  This role is entirely different from his earlier roles and he looked okay to good . Ileana looked outrageous in the film . Given her character , its acceptable but she has no glitter in her face through out the film . She looked pale and annoying now and then . She was only used on the account of songs to move her legs beside allu arjun . She really is a big disappointment to this film . Thanikella Bharani is brief and did justice to the role . Apart from the lead actor he is the only character who deserve an applause .  Rajendra prasad is good but his weird make up and childish acts makes you laugh at times . Nevertheless he still has that ability to attract audience and give a good role , he will excel for sure .  Sonu sood looked repetitive in this moderate  roles and there is nothing new from his perspective . Brahmanandam bought few laughs and remaining actors just had a coma and go role .

Off Screen :
Trivikram , the captain of the ship did a boilerplate job . His dialogues weren’t ample correlated to his previous films . He wanted to give a message to the audience and took a lucid story line . Tried to execute in a commercial way , but wasn’t successful on a whole . The action episodes were bizarre and the VFX used in the interval fight is completely absurd . Screenplay in the second half is inconsistent . Devi sri prasad greatly disappoints with his re-recording and BGM . The back ground music in the key scenes was not at all good . His work once again shows that he fails giving the best back ground music to  the action/non – love story films . Cinematographer did a good job .  Couple of songs shot in abroad were feast to an eye . Editing was good .Production values are rich and gives a feeling of watching a good film .
My Opinion :

The film started with a bank robbery and guess what ? It is plagiarized from the great bank robbery scene ” The dark Knight ” . It was canned in the dumbest way and the first let down in the film  . Looked like most of the scenes and the mind game between between hero and villain was also inspired from the same film  . The film goes on with refreshing comedy in regular intervals with director’s trade mark dialogues/sequences . Hero presumes the move of Sonu sood every time and wind up always on the correct side which looked very artificial and logic less . Trivikram’s dialogues are also pretty regular . He repeated some of his previous film works like involving scenes in between the song . Perhaps it is the sluggish film in his career till date . Although first half had some good moments , the second half is really uncomfortable . Ileana has nothing to do in the film and she is horrendous . The climax is regular like just any other film .

I just want to quote a couple of scenes from the film . Although i ain’t talking about Plagiarizing/inspiring , i am much worried in the execution of few scenes which measures the foolishness of director .

1 . How could director think of Allu arjun and Rajendra Prasad hit through the building by car and fly out of the building . Are people so stupid ?

2 . How on earth could Allu arjun run faster than a Jeep . Adding to that , he slips ahead , tear the tire and punctures it . Is director so dumb ?

Verdict :

The film offers nothing new and entertainment quota is also minimum compared to the director previous films . This is just an average film with some good one-liners here and there . Masses will have a tough time to get through and youth/family might connect to the film . With no films in the coming days , box office wise  it may end up as a profit grosser but speaking according to its content it is really not worth your money .
